On the Luz ~ Out & About in Andalucia

On the Luz presents ~ Medina Sidonia

From Roman times, when it was known as Asido Caesarino, a town has stood on the hilltop site of today's Medina Sidonia. Having sacrificed his own son to defend Tarifa from the Moors, the title of Duke of Medina Sidonia was bestowed on Alonso de Guzmán (El Bueno), by King Sancho in 1293 and one of his descendants led the Armada against the English.

Full of history, the narrow cobbled streets and alleys of the old town overlook vast distances across the beautiful Andalucian landscape.
