Another hill-top white town, strategically important since the days of the Phoenicians, Vejer was under Moorish rule for five and a half centuries and still retains a good deal of that influence in the architecture.
With spectacular views down to the Barbate coast and the Las Breņas National Park in one direction and Medina Sidonia in the other, this is a town in which you sense the continuity of its history.
